LAS VEGAS,
NV — (MARKET WIRE) — 04/14/08 — NAB SHOW — GluTV (www.glutv.com), a new online
video service offering premium Indian television, music videos and Bollywood
movies, today announced that its website, currently in beta, is being powered
by three industry-leading infrastructure providers — Akamai, the leader in
powering rich media, dynamic transactions and enterprise applications online;
SpotXchange, the leading online video advertising network; and thePlatform, the
leading broadband video management and publishing company.
GluTV is
the first Internet site to offer licensed, premium Indian programming, with
thousands of full-length shows available on a high-quality full screen, without

require long-term contracts and will be offered at a fraction of the price of
cable or satellite. GluTV’s launch is set for later this summer, but it is currently
accepting a limited number of beta subscribers at www.glutv.com.
“To achieve
our goal of bringing high-quality Indian movies and television to the 20
million Indians living outside of India, we needed best-in-class infrastructure
solutions that were scalable, flexible and reliable,” said S. G. Sangameswara,
C.E.O. and co-founder of GluTV. “Akamai, SpotXchange and thePlatform have
helped us set a new standard in Internet video delivery and create a powerful
entertainment and advertising platform; we are very pleased to have them on the
GluTV team.”
“Delivery
of crisp, clear, TV-like video is central to GluTV’s value proposition, and we
are delighted that they’ve chosen Akamai to power their site,” said Tim
Napoleon, Chief Strategist Media & Entertainment at Akamai. “By leveraging
Akamai’s global distribution and delivery platform, content is being delivered
seamlessly. This is how video on the web is supposed to be experienced.”
“GluTV is
an entertainment breakthrough for 20 million people around the world who watch
Indian movies and television, but it’s also an incredible example of the huge
advertising potential available if you aggregate highly desirable niche
audiences in one giant global market,” said SpotXchange President and CEO
Michael Shehan. “We are very happy GluTV chose SpotXchange as their targeted
advertisement provider, and we’re looking forward to working with them as their
business grows.”
“GluTV
provides an extensive catalog of unique and compelling programming for its
online audience,” said Marty Roberts, Vice President of Marketing for
