Westminster's Booyah Networks has
been ranked 23rd among the country's 500 fastest-growing private companies by
Inc. magazine.
Booyah, an
online marketing and technologies company, has seen its revenues grow 2,017
percent in the past three years, to $13.1 million last year.
Eleven Colorado companies made the 25th annual list, down from 16 last year.
Booyah was
founded in 2001 with $330,000 worth of financing as a paid search network. It
has since launched two new divisions: the Booyah Agency, an online agency that
specializes in search-engine marketing; and SpotXchange, an auction-based
online video ad platform set to launch next month.
"When we
started the company, the whole sentiment in the market towards online
advertising was negative, but we really believed in the model," said Steve Swoboda, who co-founded Booyah along with Michael Shehan. "Now it's really almost the
opposite. Everyone real ly believes in it now."
The company
has 35 employees. Earlier this month, it moved from Boulder to a larger location
in Westminster. It also has opened an office in Los Angeles.
Inc. said the
company is growing so quickly because "Booyah invests in state-of- the-art
keyword search and Web video technologies, because that's where marketing
dollars are going."
Booyah clients
include ThoughtEquity and NewsGator Technologies, both based in Denver, and Hudson, Ohio-based LittleTikes.
Greenwood
Village-based information-technology company Merlin Technical Solutions, ranked
second last year by Inc., placed 40th this year.
