Business awards
The Denver Metro Chamber of
Commerce honored an online marketing company, a language translation provider,
an architecture firm and a health care nonprofit with its annual business
awards. The group recognized the following organizations and individuals at its
annual awards lunch at the Colorado Convention Center:
• Emerging
business of the year: Booyah Networks, a Boulder-based firm that works with
clients to market products, services and content via the Internet.
• Minority-owned business of the
year: Syntes Language Group Inc., a Centennial-based provider of
professional translation and interpreting services in all major languages.
• Small business of the year: David
Owen Tryba Architects, a firm that has handled a wide range of projects,
including office buildings, civic and cultural institutions, mixed-use
developments, and historic preservation.
• Nonprofit organization of the
year: Inner City Health Center, a volunteer-based facility that provides
medical and dental care to uninsured and low-income families.
• Small-business advocate award:
Roy Alexander, executive director and chief executive of the Colorado Housing
and Finance Authority.
• The luncheon also honored the
winners of the Small Business Administration's annual Colorado
"small-business person of the year" award. This year's honors
went to Mai Tran, president of Fort Collins-based Information Technology
Experts Inc., and Bruce Hottman, vice president of ITX.
